A sight to cheer the heart.

This Vireya hybrid is called "Neesa" and would have to be one of our favourites. It has perhaps more of the cold temperate Rhododendron appearance flowerwise. But with it's cousins flowering in the Spring. This plant has stunning blooms in the middle of our Queensland winter. Please click on image for a larger view.

Variety of colours.

It has been said, that if one has enough Vireyas in one's garden then there should always be one flowering, particularly from the beginning of Autumn to the end of Spring. There is such an array of colours available that will blend in with any tropical garden. We personally like to close plant them to create a mass of colour. This can be done as Vireyas have a very fine and small root system and are quite happy with their small space. Please click on the image for a larger view.

More blooms from our display garden

The diversity of blooms and colours on our Vireyas was very refreshing during the Autumn/winter period. This image of "Coral Flare" (top right) was taken mid Autumn, the same plant is full of buds again ready to burst out in Late Winter/Spring. Please click on image for larger view.
